Kids Klassics Home Video
Kids Klassics was an American home video distributor and the children's video division of Goodtimes Entertainment.
History[]
In 1984, Goodtimes Entertainment began releasing classic cartoons on VHS under the brand name Kids Klassics, also licensing children's films and TV shows for the home video market. They began releasing Mario episodes, Zelda episodes and Captain N episodes on VHS in 1989. The company continued releasing these tapes until 1995, when Goodtimes changed its focus to producing films instead of releasing them on video. After this, Paramount acquired the rights to release The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! and The Legend of Zelda on VHS when Viacom acquired Paramount Pictures in 1995.
Present Day[]
Goodtimes and its assets, including Kids Klassics, filed for bankruptcy in 2005 and was sold to Gaiam. However, the rights to most films licensed by Kids Klassics now belong to their production companies.
